Her Royal Spyness #4
ืืฃ ืืกืืืจื โ
In the fourth part of the series, Lady Georgianaโs condition does not improve. Her sister-in-law, Fig, is pregnant and nervous, sickly, and restless. So, Georgieโs brother Binky decides they should come to London for some rest. While pondering how terrible it can be to stay together in one house, the Queen of England summons her. She sends her as the royal familyโs representative to the grand marriage ceremony that will unite Prince Nicholas of Bulgaria to Princess Marie Theresa of Romania, set in the rich historical backdrop of Eastern Europe.
In a few days, Georgie is supposed to leave for an Eastern European castle. She can only travel with a dresser but canโt bargain either since she has no money. Beggars canโt be picky. Georgie hires the first escort, who agrees to settle for the honor of escorting a royal daughter to an Eastern European wedding. She decides to hire Queenie, a kind-hearted and resourceful woman. Queenie is admittedly not royal and a bit simple with people, but she will do.
Two days pass, and Georgie, Queenie, and two companions travel by train to an isolated castle in Transylvaniaโs remote, snow-covered regions. They arrive at the historical castle of Vlad the Impaler, a towering fortress with a dark and mysterious past.
Georgie, who, at her advanced age (22), is in danger of becoming an โold virgin,โ suspects that this is another ploy by her royal relatives to match her with the Romanian crown prince. However, she has no time to delve into her suspicions because, already on the first night of her stay in the castle, one of the distinguished guests is poisoned, and the situation will only escalate, putting her life at risk.
Queenie, the maid she hired, will mysteriously disappear into the dark dungeons of the castle. A chilling ghost will terrorize the wedding guests, adding a layer of suspense to the narrative. Georgieโs unexpected engagement to the Crown Prince will be announced, further deepening the mystery. The wedding will be in danger of being canceled due to the sudden death of the guest of honor, and the bodies will ominously pile up, leaving the readers on the edge of their seats.
Georgieโs bright spot is the significant progress in her relationship with Darcy OโMara, a charming and enigmatic man she met in London. He will be a source of comfort and a key player in helping her solve the growing mysteries, adding a touch of romance and intrigue to the narrative.
I enjoyed reading Georgieโs stories. Georgieโs relationship with Darcy has progressed. Still, the plot needs to be more detailed, with intricate twists and turns that surpass even the seriesโ previous episodes, to keep the readers on the edge of their seats.
