ייצרן המטוסים גם עסוק בפיתוח סודי ביותר של מצנח שניתן לחגור על גבו של טייס. השירות החשאי מגלה שבמפעל הייצור, ישנו מרגל שמנסה להשיג גישה לתוכניות. הארי שולח את אמילי ופלו כדי להבין מה קורה בחברה, לזהות את המרגל, וכדי לקבוע האם זו היתה תאונה טרגית או האם המהנדס הצעיר נרצח.

ליידי הארדקאסל ופלו מאמצות סיפור כיסוי על רכישת מטוס של ליידי הארדקאסל, ובאותו הזמן עוקבות אחר העובדים בחברה בכדי לאתר את המרגל. הן משתמשות בטכניקות שונות שפיתחו במהלך השנים וגם באינטואיציה הנשית שלהן.

הספר השביעי בסידרה אינו מכזיב, יש בו את המידה הראויה של היסטוריה משולבת בתעלומה. בחלק הזה הסופר צימצם את ההומור, ואני חושבת שהיה ניתן לוותר על מופע הכישרונות השנתי וההכנות של פלו לקראת האירוע.

The recent tragic death of a young engineer during a routine drop test has raised suspicions, and Harry believes there is more to this event than meets the eye.

The aircraft manufacturer is also busy developing a top-secret parachute that can be strapped to a pilot’s back. The Secret Service discovers that a spy is trying to access the plans at the manufacturing plant. Harry sends Emily and Flo to understand what is happening in the company, to identify the spy, and to determine whether it was a tragic accident or whether the young engineer was murdered.

Lady Hardcastle and Flo adopt a cover story about Lady Hardcastle’s purchase of a plane while following the company’s employees to track down the spy. They use various techniques they have developed over the years and their feminine intuition.

The seventh book in the series does not disappoint; it has the right amount of history combined with a mystery. In this part, the writer reduced the humor, and it was possible to skip the annual talent show and Flo’s preparations for the event.
