בשנה האחרונה, אמזון פירסמו לפני החגים שני מקבצים של נובלות רומנטיות. המקבץ הראשון פורסם לפני חג הוולנטיין ונקרא – The Improbable Meet-Cute, קראתי את הנובלה הראשונה בסידרה ומאוד נהנתי ממנה, אני מתכננת להמשיך לקרוא את יתר הנובלות.

המקבץ השני, Under the Mistletoe, פורסם לפני הכריסטמס והוא כולל נובלות של אלי הייזלווד וטסה ביילי, ועוד שלוש סופרות שלא יצא לי לקרוא ספרים שלהן.

המקבץ מאפשר לדגום את הסופרת והסיגנון שלה. הנובלה הרביעית במקבץ “Merriment and Mayhem” מאת הסופרת אלכסנדריה בלפלר, חמודה ומשעשעת.

אוורלי חוזרת לזמן קצר לבית סבתא שלה שנפטרה. התקופה היא תקופת החגים, אוורלי צריכה להכין את הבית למכירה ובזמן שהיא נמצאת בבית ומתגעגעת לסבתא האהובה שלה, היא מחליטה לשחזר כמה מהמסורות של החג.

לא הכרתי את הסופרת אלכסנדריה בלפלר לפני שקראתי את הספר הזה, והוא ספר מקסים. מערכת היחסים בין הדמויות קלילה ומחוייכת ולא נגררת מיד לסצנות סקס. היא גם לא מתבססת על קצר בתקשורת, אלא על חיזור אמיתי.

הנובלה הזו טובה באופן משמעות מהשתיים שקדמו לה. חייכתי כשקראתי אותה והיא גם מספקת קריאה ברוח הכריסטמס והחגים, קריאה שהיא feel good.

In the past year, Amazon published two collections of romantic novellas before the holidays. The first collection, “The Improbable Meet-Cute,” was released before Valentine’s Day. I read the first novella in this series and truly enjoyed it, and I plan to continue reading the remaining novellas.

The collection allows you to sample the author and her style. Alexandria Belfleur’s fourth novella, “Merriment and Mayhem,” is charming and entertaining.

Everleigh returns to her late grandmother’s house during the holiday season to prepare it for sale. While she is there, missing her beloved grandmother, she decides to recreate some holiday traditions.

The house is in a small town where nosy neighbors know everything. When Everleigh accidentally burns the cookies she’s baking, the neighbors call the fire department, and with them comes firefighter Griffin Brentley.

Everleigh’s time at her grandmother’s house is marked by misfortune. A series of recurring minor disasters that require help continually brings Everleigh together with Griffin and the fire department team.

Griffin, who is attracted to Everleigh, gently courts her with humor. Meanwhile, Everleigh, who must leave after the holiday season, feels conflicted.

I hadn’t heard of author Alexandria Belfleur before reading this delightful book. The characters’ relationships are light-hearted and sweet, and the story doesn’t immediately dive into sex scenes. It’s not based on communication mishaps but on genuine courtship.

This novella is far superior to the two that preceded it. I found myself smiling as I read, and it provided a delightful holiday spirit—a genuinely feel-good story.
