זהו ספר נחמד לפתיחת סדרה, אך לא בטוח שיניע אותי לקרוא את הספרים הבאים. מי שמחפש קריאה קלה, חמימה ונעימה, ימצא כאן בדיוק את זה.

Read Between the Pines is a contemporary romance, reminiscent of Hallmark-style stories, that follows Abby as she opens a new chapter in her life.
After a crushing disappointment at work in New York, where the promotion she expected was handed to her boyfriend, “Mr. Charisma,” who takes credit for her efforts, Abby quits without a backup plan. Then she unexpectedly inherits a small-town bookstore from her late aunt Maggie.
When Abby arrives, she discovers the shop is in disrepair and without a loyal customer base. Though disheartened, she hires Ethan, the town’s handyman, who doubts her ability to stay and advises her to sell. Offended by his skepticism, Abby decides to fight for the store, to restore it and breathe new life into its dusty shelves. As renovations progress, a tentative friendship with Ethan begins to blossom into something more.
The novel offers a gentle, clean romance wrapped in the cozy atmosphere of a small town, a weathered bookstore, and the promise of fresh beginnings. The audiobook narration, however, adds little depth to the characters, and some developments feel rushed.
It’s a sweet, light read that sets the stage for a series, though not necessarily compelling enough to continue. Readers seeking warmth, comfort, and Hallmark vibes will find just that here.
