סודה הכמוס ביותר הוא רומן רומנטי קצר שנבנה סביב מפגש כפוי בין שני אוהבים לשעבר, סערה שמנתקת אותם מן העולם וסוד מן העבר שעדיין לא קיבל הסבר. בתוך הנוסחה המוכרת של הוצאת שלגי, זהו אחד הספרים המוצלחים יותר שקראתי: רומנטי, זורם ולא דביק מדי, גם אם הסוד הגדול מתגלה כהרבה פחות דרמטי מכפי שהכריכה מבטיחה.

רומן רומנטי קצר על קאריס וזאנדר, אוהבים לשעבר שנלכדים יחד בבית חווה בזמן סערה ונאלצים להתמודד עם הסיבה שבגללה היא נעלמה מחייו.
לקוראים שאוהבים רומנים קצרים, הזדמנות שנייה, אוהבים לשעבר, קרבה כפויה וסודות מן העבר.
אחד הספרים המוצלחים יותר מסדרת שלגי: זורם, רומנטי ולא דביק מדי. הסוד עצמו פחות דרמטי מן ההבטחה, אבל הספר עדיין עובד.
סיפור העלילה נע בין העבר להווה בו קראיס וזאנדר כלואים בבית חווה ישן בזמן סערה. שלוש שנים לפני כן, קאריס ברחה ונעלמה לזאנדר אחרי תקופה שבה גרו מגורים משותפים. זאנדר אינו יודע מדוע קאריס ברחה והאמת שאיך שזה נראה גם היא לא יודעת מדוע ברחה מאהבת חייה.
תחילת סיפור האהבה שלהם נראה מבטיח. לא דביק מידי ומאידך לא חסר רומנטיקה מתוקה כך שמאוד קשה להבין מה השתבש בדרך ועתה זאנדר מגיע לקבל את התשובות ולסגור מעגל.
בחלק האחרון קאריס מתנהגת בצורה קצת לא שפויה. גם המניע שלה לבריחה נראה לגיטימי אף על פי שהיה עדיף שבאותו הזמן תנהל שיחה רצינית עם מי שנחשב לאהבת חייה. אני חושבת שהסוד כשלעצמו אינו נורא ביותר והדרמה שמבטיח עורך המהדורה העברית בכריכה האחורית אינה מתממשת.
סה"כ באמת לדעתי אחד הספרים הטובים בסידרה של שלגי.

Running from the Storm / Lee Wilkinson
Running from the Storm is a short romance built around a forced reunion between two former lovers, a storm that cuts them off from the outside world, and a secret from the past that has never been properly explained.
Within the familiar formula of the Shalgi romance line, this is one of the better books I have read. It is romantic, easy to read, and not overly sentimental, even if the great secret turns out to be far less dramatic than the back cover promises.
The story moves between the past and the present, where Caris and Xander are trapped in an old farmhouse during a storm.
Three years earlier, Caris ran away and disappeared from Xander’s life after a period in which they had lived together. Xander does not know why she left, and to be honest, at times it seems that Caris herself does not fully understand why she ran away from the love of her life.
The beginning of their relationship is promising. It is not too sweet, yet it does not lack tenderness or romance. That makes it difficult to understand what went wrong along the way.
Now Xander has returned in search of answers and closure.
In the final part of the book, Caris behaves somewhat irrationally. Her reason for leaving is understandable, even though it would have been far better if she had simply had an honest conversation with the man she considered the love of her life.
The secret itself is not especially terrible, and the drama promised by the Hebrew edition’s back cover never truly materializes.
Overall, I still consider this one of the stronger books in the Shalgi romance series.
