שלה ענבר היתה התובעת במשפטו של רומן זדורוב, פרשייה שעד היום מסעירה אחת לתקופה את הרשתות החברתיות ואת העתונות. היא פרשה מתפקידה בפרקליטות צפון וזהו ספרה הראשון (ויש לקוות שלא האחרון).
הספר מתאר פרשיית היעלמותה של ילדה בשם מאי לחייאני אי אז בשנת 2009. הפרשייה לא פוענחה עד תומה משום שלא נמצאה המזוודה והגופה של הילדה והחשוד זוכה בבית משפט העליון מחמת הספק.
עתה 7 שנים אחרי, התובעת המרכזית במשפט, ליה גרין, מנהלת פאב במושב בצפון הרחוק ומנסה להתרחק מהעבר וצלליו שרודפים אותה. עד שביום השנה לחטיפתה של מאי לחיאני נעלמת ילדה נוספת בדיוק באותו המקום.
הספר מצטיין לא רק בתיאור העלילה ופיתולי החקירה והתביעה סביב היעלמותן של מאי לחייאני ואלה, אלא גם בטווית מערכות היחסים הסבוכות מקצועית
ואישית בין נציגי הפרקליטות לנציגי המשטרה. לכך, נוסף רובש של יחסים עם בעלי מקצועות שונים ובעיקר גידי האלוף במחשבים. ובעיקר מצטיינת בתיאור משולש היחסים שבין ליה, עידו ומנו, שני האחרונים היו אי אז קצינים במשטרה ומערכת היחסים המיוחדת בין השלשה פשוט משדרגת את הספר.
הדמויות נרקמות בצורה עגולה ויש להן עומק, כמו גם לפיתולי העלילה שבצעדים קדימה ואחורה מובילה את הקורא דרך נפתוליה הסבוכים והמתסכלים לא אחת אל הפתרון.
וגם הסוף המר מתוק משאיר פתח לספר נוסף. שאני מאוד מקווה שבאמת יצא.

I have read many sourcebooks this year, but this one is one of the best and most beautiful.
Shela Inbar served as the prosecutor in the trial of Roman Zdorov, which caused a stir on social media and in the newspapers. She has since retired from her position at the North Prosecutor's Office and has recently published her first book. Hopefully, it will not be her last.
The book narrates the story of a girl named Mai Lahayani who went missing in 2009. Unfortunately, the case remained unsolved as her body and the suitcase were not found. Moreover, the suspect was acquitted by the Supreme Court due to a lack of evidence.
Now, seven years later, the main plaintiff in the trial, Leah Green, runs a pub in a seat in the far north and tries to distance herself from the past and its shadows that haunt her. On the anniversary of Mai Lahiani's kidnapping, another girl disappears in the exact same place.
The book is exceptional not just in its depiction of the plot and the twists and turns of the investigation and prosecution surrounding the disappearance of Mai Lahayani and Ella but also in how it intricately weaves together the complex relationships, both professional and personal, between representatives of the prosecutor's office and the police. Furthermore, the story involves many relationships with professionals, particularly Gidi, the computer champion. Above all, the book stands out in its description of the triangular relationship between Lia, Ido, and Mano. The latter two were once police officers, and the unique bond between the three elevates the book.
The story's characters are intricately crafted with depth, and the plot twists and turns in a way that leads the reader forward and backward through frustrating tangles more than once before arriving at a solution.
The bittersweet ending leaves an opening for a sequel. I hope one comes out.
