הספר השני בסידרה של 3 ספרים על 3 עלמות חן, חברות שעוסקות במדעים בזמן שחיי הזוגיות שלהן כמו שאומרים – על הקרשים: מארה, סיידי והאנה.
הספר הראשון עסק במארה, הספר השני עוסק בסיידי.
סיידי היא ד"ר להנדסה שעוסקת בהנדסה אזרחית ושימור הסביבה. לסיידי יש הרבה אמונות תפלות. אחת מהן שהיא חייבת לאכול מאפינס בננה (דיי מגעיל) לפני פרזנטציה. בוקר אחד, כשהיא מגיעה לרכוש את המאפין הידוע לשימצה, היא מגלה שבחור גבוה, שנראה כמו ויקינג קנה את המאפין האחרון.
בצר לה היא מציעה לרכוש ממנו את המאפין, אבל הוא ברוחב לב מציע לה אותו.
מסתבר שאריק נובק, הענק הנורדי, עובד בחברה בביניין של סיידי ויש להם המון דברים משותפים בעיקר עבודה בתחום זהה ואהבה לכדורגל..
אחרי ערב מסעיר אחד, סיידי מקבלת את הרושם שאריק ניצל אותה כדי לקבל מידע עיסקי שלא היה מקבל אחרת. למרות שהוא מנסה להסביר לה, היא חוסמת אותו בכל האמצעים ומתנתקת ממנו בשיברון לב.
אבל, ערב שישי אחד, כשרק שניהם בביניין הם נפגשים במעלית ביציאה מהעבודה. כמה חבל שבדיוק אז מתרחשת הפסקת חשמל והם נתקעים במעלית לזמן מה כדי שאריק יוכל להבין מדוע סיידי חסמה אותו.
אהבתי את הספר הזה אפילו יותר מהספר הראשון. סיידי חמודה ומשעשעת ואריק גבר מהמם.
כמו בכל סיפור אהבה טוב של הייזלווד, גם כאן היא משתמשת בקצרי תקשורת כמניע לעלילה ולניתוק בין הגיבורים. סצנת הסקס נדמה לי היחידה בספר, לוהטת אש והפכה את הקריאה הקצרה הזו לשווה יותר.

The series follows three young women, Mara, Sadie, and Hannah, who are navigating their careers in science while also dealing with challenges in their personal lives.
The initial book focused on Mara, while the second revolved around Sadie.
Sadie is a engineering doctor specializing in civil engineering and environmental conservation. She has a number of superstitions, one of which is that she must eat banana muffins (which she finds pretty disgusting) before giving a presentation. One morning, when she arrives to buy her usual muffin, she discovers that a tall guy who looks like a Viking has already purchased the last one.
Regretfully, she offers to buy the muffin from him, but he generously offers it to her.
Eric Novak, the Nordic giant, works for a company in Sadie's building. They have many things in common, mainly working in the same field and loving soccer.
After an eventful evening and steamy night, Sadie suspects that Eric took advantage of her to obtain business information that he wouldn't have obtained otherwise. Despite his attempts to explain himself, she refuses to listen and completely shuts him out, ultimately ending their relationship and leaving her heartbroken.
On a Friday evening, when Eric and Sadie were alone in the building, they met each other in the elevator while leaving work. Unfortunately, a power outage occurred, and they got stuck in the elevator. During this time, Eric tried to figure out why Sadie had blocked him.
I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. Sadie's humor is endearing, and Eric is a handsome man.
As in any good Hazelwood love story, she uses short communication as a motive for the plot and disconnection between the protagonists. The one sex scene is hot and steamy and made this short read more worth it.
