זו תמיד שמחה כשמתרגמים ספר של קריסטין אשלי, מלכת הרומנטיקה הבלתי מעורערת.
"החיבור" הוא הספר הראשון בדואט "אור ירח ושמן מנועים" שעוסקת באחים לבית גמבל ובאחיות לבית פורסטר.
איזי פורסטר מגיעה לעיירה קטנה ומנומנמת ומחליטה לקנות בה בית, אחרי שהאקס הסטוקר שלה, פרץ לביתה והיא נאלצה להוציא נגדו צו הרחקה.
מאז, איזי נמנעת מקשרים עם גברים, אבל ערב אחד כשהיא יוצא לשתות בבר המקומי, היא פוגשת את ג'וני גמבל. ג'וני, אינו כיתר הגברים שאיזי הכירה. הוא שקט, ענו, כריזמטי,יודע להקשיב, ישיר ולא משחק משחקים. הסקס איתו אלוהי, יעידו על כך בנות העיירה שהצליחו להגיע למיטתו.

הסיפור שלהם קולח. למרות שהדמויות קצת מושלמות מידי והמעברים בין גוף ראשון(הסיפור של איזי) לגוף שלישי (הסיפור של ג'וני) מציקים.
קריסטין אשלי כותבת סיפורים שנוגעים בחיים ושתי הדמויות שלה בספר הזה זכו למנה של ראליות בין אם זה הסיפור של איזי, סיפור מלא השראה ועומק. ובין אם הסיפור של ג'וני שהרגשתי שחסרים בו פרטים.
לטעמי היה ניתן לערוך את הספר בצורה הדוקה יותר ובכל מקרה אחרי שמתגברים על מהמורות בחלק השני של הספר יש עיניין רב יותר והעלילה מעניינת יותר.

Translating a book by Kristin Ashley, the queen of romance, is always a delightful experience.
"The Hookup" is the first book in the duet "Moonlight and Motor Oil," which deals with the brothers of the Gamble family and the sisters of the Forrester family.
Izzy Forester decides to buy a house in a quiet town after getting a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, a stalker who broke into her home.
After a bad experience with a man, Izzy has decided to avoid relationships with men. One night, while she is out drinking at a local bar, she meets Johnny Gamble. Unlike most of the men Izzy has known, Johnny is quiet, humble, and charismatic. He knows how to listen and he is direct, not playing games. The sex with him is incredible, and the girls in town who have been lucky enough to be with him can attest to that.
Johnny Gamble is an introverted and solitary man who, due to his complicated past, prefers to focus on his cars rather than human connections, particularly with women.
When Johnny meets Izzy, he undergoes a transformation. Izzy is a free spirit who loves animals and people. She lives by simple principles and enjoys refurbishing furniture.
Johnny and Izzy are perfect for each other.
The story flows well, but the transitions between Izzy's and Johnny's perspectives can be jarring. Additionally, the characters are portrayed as too perfect.
Kristen Ashley is a writer whose stories touch the heart. In this book, both characters have experienced a dose of reality. Izzy's story is full of inspiration and depth, while Johnny's story felt like it was lacking in details.
In my opinion, the book could have been edited more tightly. However, after overcoming the bumps in the second part, the plot becomes more interesting.
